2014 Job Fair

Area job seekers will have a connection with at least 50 potential employers at the Centralia College Job Fair. The annual event takes place in the college Health and Wellness Center (gym), located at the corner of Walnut and Iron streets, on Wednesday, April 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The fair is offered without charge and is open to students, graduates, and anyone in the community actively looking for employment. It is expected that about 50 employers will be represented.

"The Centralia College job fairs have had quite positive results," said Joan Rogerson, coordinator of student employment at the college. Local and regional employers will be present to discuss part-time, full-time, seasonal, and even apprenticeship opportunities, Rogerson added. "We invite people to take advantage of this opportunity to gain information from a variety of employers," she said.

It's possible that job offers could be extended, and Rogerson recommends that attendees dress professionally and bring confidence in their skills and abilities. Employers, including representatives from the state of Washington, public utilities, and private businesses, will be on hand. There will be representatives from law enforcement agencies and labor unions, describing their apprenticeship and training programs. Centralia College staff will be on site to talk about two- and four-year educational opportunities that could lead to employment opportunities or promotions.

The employer list includes a number of retail and wholesale corporations and health care agencies. Financial institutions are also among the list of potential employers.
