Groove for Thought to perform in January

 Groove for Thought, a powerful vocal group with a unique brand of jazz- and R&B-infused tunes, will bring its high energy and fully entertaining act to Centralia College for the Jan. 21, 2012, President’s Scholarship Performance. The concert will be performed in Corbet Theatre beginning at 7 p.m.

Groove For Thought was a finalist on NBC’s The Sing Off last season and recently opened for Jay Leno in Las Vegas. The seven members of GFT create their own sound while drawing on influences as diverse as Earth, Wind, & Fire, The Count Basie Orchestra, Michael Jackson, and others.
GFT has won a number of awards, including the National Harmony Sweepstakes Championship and two Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards for Best Jazz Song and Best Holiday Song.
Infectious grooves, stunning arrangements, and electrifying solos are just some of the phrases used to describe Seattle based vocal group Groove For Thought. For over a decade, GFT has brought its unique brand of music to festival, concert, school, and nightclub audiences throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Groove For Thought's debut CD has been released to rave reviews and has received radio airplay from coast to coast.
As a special delight for the audience, the local performing group, Just Cuz will join GFT on stage for the opening act. Just Cuz features “six voices, two families, and one dream.” This group of cousins has performed locally and recently won a national competition in Oklahoma.
